WEST Coast has resisted the temptation to rush back midfielder Matt Rosa for the side's Saturday night blockbuster against Carlton.
Rosa has failed to appear at AFL level so far this season after recovering from a pre-season thigh injury.
The 26-year-old is likely to line up for East Perth against East Fremantle in WAFL action on Saturday.
As expected, key defender Eric Mackenzie will replace Mitch Brown for the clash with the Blues at Patersons Stadium.
Mackenzie has missed the Eagles' past two matches after suffering a hamstring injury in the Round 1 loss to Fremantle.
Bradd Dalziell will also return to the lineup to replace veteran Andrew Embley, who is likely to miss 2-3 weeks with a foot problem.
The Blues have made three changes as they seek their first win under new coach Mick Malthouse, with ruckman Matt Kreuzer (thumb) and defender Marcus Davies (hamstring) both ruled out. Dylan Buckley has been dropped.
Former Fremantle big man Robbie Warnock will fill the ruck void, with WA product Simon White and midfielder Ed Curnow also coming into the lineup.
Carlton has experienced heartbreak in its past two trips to Perth to face the Eagles.
The Blues were edged out by three points in a thrilling semi-final clash in 2011, before squandering a three-quarter time lead to go down by 10 points in Round 12 last year.
Other high-profile inclusions for the weekend's footy from around the league include Jack Watts (Melbourne), Matthew Boyd (Western Bulldogs), Dom Cassisi (Port Adelaide), and Majak Daw (North Melbourne).
