FORMER Bomber Angus Monfries has refused to comment about the anti-doping investigation that has rocked Essendon.

Croweater Monfries - traded to Port Adelaide at the end of last season - spent eight years at Windy Hill after being selected from SANFL club Sturt at pick 14 at the 2004 National Draft.

He will almost certainly be quizzed by the AFL and Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority after playing 18 games with Essendon last year.

A Port spokesman said Monfries would "co-operate with any investigation" and did not want to comment to the media.
