FREMANTLE midfielder Nat Fyfe has no regrets about his decision to challenge a kicking charge at the AFL Tribunal.
Fyfe's decision to contest the charge last night backfired and he must now serve a two-week suspension for kicking Richmond's Daniel Jackson.
He would have only missed this Saturday night's clash with Gold Coast had he taken an early guilty plea.
The tribunal ruled Fyfe's actions were intentional despite the 21-year-old arguing his actions were reckless and clumsy.
But Fyfe said it was important for him to have his say over the matter.
"I stand by my decision to decision to defend myself," Fyfe told Channel 7.
"In hindsight, missing an extra game isn't great, but I do stand by my decision.
"I know myself I'm a fair player and that's not what I'm about.
"I really wanted my chance to have my say."
Earlier today, Fremantle coach Ross Lyon said the club would need to consider whether the risks associated with challenging the match review panel's findings were worth it in future cases.
"Maybe we should have priced the risk (a bit) greater because it really hurts now," Lyon said.
"But we live and we learn. It's a disappointing outcome."
