Now it's time to honour J-Mac

PORT Adelaide's players have been allowed to enjoy their image-changing win on Easter Sunday - but not for long.

New Power coach Ken Hinkley is quickly returning the focus at Alberton to ensuring Port does not ruin its grand start by once again tripping up against Greater Western Sydney, this time at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night.

And there is the extra responsibility on the Power players to honour the memory of former player John McCarthy in Saturday night's tribute match.

McCarthy died during his off-season trip to Las Vegas in September.

Rising Star nominee Oliver Wines yesterday highlighted he is not going to get carried away with his personal success - and insists that the same theme is being followed by his team-mates despite the euphoria created by their 79-point belting of Melbourne on the MCG.

"You have to enjoy the win, but you don't want to get too far ahead of yourself," Wines said yesterday.

"We've enjoyed the win and we've shifted our focus to getting off on the right foot against GWS.

"Ken (Hinkley) demands everything of us and he is pretty straight down the barrel (on Monday), saying we have to move on to the next game."

The image of new era, new hope at Alberton remains on the players after a summer of progress with off-field advances made by the Power.

"We're really strong about having a positive outlook," Wines said.
